Special occasions require special beers 🍻 Wheatwine is a special beer. And quite rare: 0.076 % of my beers have been wheatwines. During the ten years of my Pint Please history, I've enjoyed six wheatwines. Only! It means that I've been able to enjoy a wheatwine once every 20 months. And I just had one a week ago 😅 Life is, indeed, giving the best to me! Okay, wheatwine. From 🇺🇸. This beauty wears a deep old mahogany gown with an unmistakable burgundy reflection. The carbonation is timid – no wonder, this beerstyle is not supposed to be fizzy. The emerging foamy cap is narrow and creamy. Attractive nuances in the scent: date, raisin and dried plum. Vanilla, Bourbon, a hint of syrup and modest cacao nibs complete the cocktail. The fragrance is quite inviting although it also leaves room for improvement, especially as to depth and complexity. How about the taste then? Fortunately, it saves a lot! Intensive flavors indeed! I can observe huge bowls of date, dried plum and raisin. Vanilla seasons Bourbon and the accompanying oak barrel gently. Bourbon itself is mellow and not particularly gentle, rather a bit aggressive, but still has its soft side, as well. Smaller proposals of chocolate and cacao nibs finalize the sweet, slightly alcoholic punch. Overall, a seductive piece! 🤎🤎 The body is full albeit enthralled by sweetness. The finish gears the alcoholic side of the Bourbon higher in hierarchy, yet, the sugar-intensive dried fruits, cacao and vanilla keep their positions firmly. The mouthfeel is full, intense, very deep, relatively rich, a tad complex and neatly barrel aged. Desserty, a tad alcoholic, warming, still elegant. Definitely an enjoyable slow sipper!

Different, has strong almost fruit punch taste that is a little bitter and not sweet

Best before 2027.07.27. At the beginning barrels and other alcohol were noticeable. And beer was not boozy. Over time those notes disappeared, leaving only chocolate and vanilla. Started as praline with alcohol, ended as normal chocolate praline.
