Best before 2024.09.06. Intense coffee with vanilla. Medium-bodied. Alcohol hidden.

Gout de vanille et caramel tres fort. Caffé. Très épaisse. Absolument delcieuse mais en petite quantité. Ca reste trop chère (24$ les 50cl)

Dou time with Texas. It's my granddaughter's 21st birthday so it's time to go to the beer celler for something special. A Goose Island Bourbon County Stout will be perfect. This will be her first ( legal ) beer. Typical of the Bourbon County's, very little head and what is there disappears quickly. Aroma conveys the oak barrel with bourbon as the alcohol. Add a little prune to the back end. Texture, of course, is the soft and creamy style you would expect. That 13.2% Barrel aged bourbon is the first thing you get. Having aged 2 years in the bottle may have increased it. Mild chocolate along with a deep roasted black coffee follows with an intense flavor. The heaviness of the beer coats the inside of the mouth with flavor that's lasting. Finish adds a bit of dryness but the dominant flavors remain. This is a really good beer, but, being a Bourbon County, I was hoping it would battle for a 5. Very good but not as good as the others that we've had.
