Christmas family beer share.
Side by side review alongside 2016, 2017 and 2018. All are great, but 2015 is my favorite.

Tasty. Not infected, so that's a huge plus. I'm 2 for 2 with the 2015 BCBS bottles. 5/5

This one had me worried. There was a huge infection issue in 2015, but I'd forgotten about that when I bought this from an online seller. I poured it in my glass and the aroma confirmed my worries. It smelled tart. Sure, there was some bourbon and coffee in the aroma, but the tartness that I initially got bummed me out. After a minute or two, I decided to dive in and see what an infected beer tasted like. All worries went away upon the first sip. No infection. Taste has a nice bourbon. I'm getting some oak and vanilla from the bourbon barrel aging along with coffee. I'm also getting some chocolate. This is a great stout that doesn't leave me disappointed. I'll have to be more careful in the future, but I'm satisfied with my purchase. More than satisfied, actually. World class beer that I'll sip on and savor for a while. Hopefully the other 2 bottles in the cellar are the same. 5/5

My first birthdaybrew today. Praying to god that this is not infected.
The aroma is dominated by bourbon with strong vanilla and chocolate notes present.
The mouthfeel is silky and a bit carbonated strong with booziness sticking right into your nose.
The taste is boozy all the way with sweet chocolate and caramel along in the beginning. Also some roast, not much coffee though. Finishing off with a strong bourbon barrel taste along with the booziness. The bourbon and the booze is sharp, but the beer is very mellow, smooth and silky. Warmed up the sweetness and the chocolate gets a little stronger than the barrel. Oily and sugary aftertaste. Would've thought this to be more dry and not this sweet, but this is definetly the benchmark for an bourbon ba imperial stout to be. Amazing, and not infected. 4.75/5. I think the rare one would bring this one to 5/5.
