Damn Ryan's diet! I have so missed our nights of Duoing beers. This is long overdue, plus I miss seeing my daughter and grandchildren so often. We are going big time tonight, a Bourbon County Stout. Expectations are ridiculous. As soon as you open the cap the intense alcohol invades you. Sweet bourbon, oak, and a hint of ginger. Went from the bottle to the glass like motor oil, small deep brown head that disappeared before I could get my photo. Once in the glass, a brief wind brought the scent of coconut accompanied the powerful bourbon alcohol flavored with the oak. Took a sip and I immediately knew that this was trying to achieve a 5.0. The 14.6% definitely felt stronger. Heavy texture almost to the point of syrupy but not unappealing. Flavors, bourbon, of course, traces of oak, additions of coconut, ginger, and in the background the cacao. Just like the bottle says. It simply stands up and says here I am. You can't help but feel the effort it took to make this beer. This is the definition of a sipping beer. Ryan and I caught up on things going on in our lives for the last a few weeks, corrected many of the wrongs in life, while taking sips of this well-made beer. It never lost its consistency of flavor. From first sip until a long time after, it never changed. Extraordinary. Ryan says this beer has movement on the surface, it's alive. He may be right. It's been so long since I've had a beer of this quality my judgment could easily be skewed. Sorry, but this was a 5.0 from the start.

Lasiinkaatuu yönmustaa kevyen lasinreunoja tahmaavaa olutta ei lainkaan vaahtohuntua. Ei ei se ole vielä tarpeeksi ole lämmennyt joten annetaanhan enemmän aikaa.. Tuoksusta: Suklaisuutta/tummaasuklaata, kahvipapuja,mallaspohjaa,kookoslastua, fariinisokeria,taatelia,mausteisuutta, inkivääriä sekä kevyttä paahteisuutta. Kypsytys tuo laadukasta bourbonia,syvyyttä sekä hieman vanilijaa. Maunpuolelta: Suklaisuutta,tummaa/raaka suklaisuutta, espressoa,fariinisokeria,paahteisuutta, mausteisuutta,inkivääriä sekä kookoslastuja. Kypsytys tuo laadukasta bourbonia,hieman mausteista vanilijaisuutta sekä syvyyttä. Suutuntuma/runko: Öljyinen,puhtaan maltainen,monipuolinen sekä makeammasta kuivaksi liukuva. About: medium ++ Yleistäjorinaa/viba: Todella upea maustettu,laadukas sekä tasapainoinen imperial. Selkeästi parhain goose mitä tullut vastaan. Edit: tämän olin jo aijemmin testannut mutta täpätty väärän alle joten korjailua...

Goose Island -tastingin 6/6. Vahva runko, kohtalaisesti suklaata. Pinnalla kevyesti sokerikuorrutetta ja ohuesti hattaraa.
