Hieman tummempaan taittava, samea keltainen olut. Tuoksu ylikypsää tropiikkia. Maku pitkäti samaa, mangoa, appelsiinia ja kevyesti ananasta. Hopburnia jonkin verran.

A persimmon sour ale for a nightcap. Not sure if I have ever had a persimmon sour ale before. Interesting. The appearance is relatively cloudy, pale orange. The carbonation is impotent as it builds a weak white head that dies fast. I can see a layer of remnants, obviously of fruit, at the bottom of the glass. Persimmon features nicely in the scent. It resembles a medley of nectarine, strawberry and red apple. Lactic acid is evident. So is wheat malt. Persimmon is the winner on the tastebuds. What a surprise! This time it can be broken down into peach, mandarin, orange and apple. Powerful lactic acid and wheat malt seal the juicy deal. Again. The body is light. The tail is narrower than upfront but persimmon is still easily recognizable. Feels tart, acidic, juicy, pulpy and puckering in the mouth. Erodes my enamel. Zippy. Considerably more characterful than the orange version.

Semiclear, pale yellow beer with restrained carbonation releases a small-bubbled head that fails to reach half a finger. Soon it's more or less history. The scent is distinctly citrusy: lemon zest merges with orange pulp and peel. Lactic acid works in the background. Moreover, I can occasionally spot a faint hint of gherkin among the olfactory components. Lemon zest and orange pulp feature also on the tongue. Quite thin though. Lactic acid and a bit of wheat malt but no gherkin. Simple. The body is thin. The finish is identical to the first gustatory encounter. The mouthfeel is thin, juicy, pulpy, acidic, a bit tart but not really puckering. A simple experience, would probably work better on a hot summer day. Now it's somewhat lackluster. NOTE: The barcode gives "Kefirade: Mango w/ Cardamon".

Vetinen ja hiivainen. Nyt oli kyllä melkoisen epäonnistunut Oktoberfest-olut.
