Melko tummaa ja maltaista. Jonkin verran makea ja reippaan hapokas. Kiva Bock joka tapauksessa.

On hyvin lähellä portteria. Omaan makuun vähän liiaksi.

Todellinen yllätys! Hyvä nautiskeluolut hämärtyvään iltaan, enemmän tuntuu laadukkaalta porterilta.

Friday's nightcap. A local Doppelbock. The beer wears a muddy, dark brown gown. Looks very coffeeish. Carbonation is mild-mannered. A pale sandy head emerges on the surface up to half a finger only. Soon the head is a mere gossamer lace ring.
I sniff the beer and get surprised: a lovely medley of strong coffee and sweet-leaning cacao nibs. Dark rye cracker and a drop of wort should also be added to the list. Quite intriguing! 🤎
The tastebuds like powerful elements like espresso, cacao nibs, raw licorice root and lofty dark rye malt as if slightly smoked. A sourish berry-like vibe embraces my taste receptors tightly, but after more careful analysis, I can pick only a suggestion of cranberry and much much more coffee flavors, maybe coffee bean. I like the package, I anticipated something much less brave and lackluster. This actually has character. 🤎🤎
The body is medium. It's not particularly robust but not ailing either. The finish tweaks a couple of degrees tangier but the intensity compensates beautifully for the sharper corners. Astonishingly coffeeish though.
The mouthfeel is medium-full, intense, relatively deep, mouthcoating and lip-glueing. A bit of sharpness can also be sensed but, overall, the outcome is solid.
