Spruce tip sour ale sounds bizarre. The spruce tip gives a moldy impression to my tastebuds, I've noticed it many times when tasting a beer with spruce tip even as a minor player in the concoction. This is vintage 2024. And a collaboration with obviously one of the most awarded homebreweries in Finland, Kaarlon Kotipanimo. Anyway, here we go. The beer looks semihazy yellow. The sparkling carbonation releases a thin lace ring only, and even that is soon gone despite the long-lasting bubbling. The scent is surprisingly attractive: ample lactic acid, lemon zest, passionfruit and wheat malt. Even a tad Lambicky, yet not really funky though. The spruce tip is fresh and aromatic, not at all moldy. Intriguing already at this stage! Let me sip. The gustatory profile invites me to dive deeper into this magic world. Oh my! Lactic acid erodes my enamel. Maybe it's worth it? The spruce tip is gentle, not shy though but not bold either. Wheat malt, lemon pulp and zest and a whisper of raw green gooseberry seal the package. The body is light. The end is identical to upfront. Meaning neatly sour. The mouthfeel is light, acidic, tart, slightly aromatic and moderately puckering. Extraordinarily balanced. Successful! Kudos to the homebrewer who has managed to get the best out of the ingredient that has so often tasted moldy to me. 💛

On kyllä hapanta mutta tosiaan hyvää! Ihan kuin guezeä minne roiskittu kaupan happammimmat sitruunat pyttyyn ja annettu muhia. Tuoksuakin ihan kivasti joka ei aina ole itsestään selvää. Kokonaisuutena positiivinen yllätys...

Tosi, TOSI hapan ja kirpeä! Sitruksinen maku. Huikka tätä ja on naamakin happamana :D Tosi kiva tiettyyn hetkeen!

No nyt on oikeasti hapan sour 👍 ei tätä koko iltaa pystyisi vetämään, mutta yksi pullo erittäin jees.

Tuoksussa vahva happamuutta. Maku vetää ikinet leukaluihin asti. Todella herkullinen ja kerrankin on kaupallinen olut hapan! Kerkkä maistuu hyvin ja ja pyörii suussa pitkään.

No nyt on happamuutta hyvinkin😋 Kuusenkerkkä jää vähän vaisuksi,reilun happamuuden takia,mutta on hyvä kuitenkin.
