A birthday gift from my kids (1 of 7 (beers, not kids!)) A level 2 stepping stone into the IPA realm. A tub water first timer wouldn't like it. Citrus on the nose, mostly orange. Citrus on the buds, mostly orange. No hops bite or bitterness. Side bar not related to beer at all- David Gilmore's (Pink Floyd fame) Piper's Calling song/ video is f-ing awesome. His strings skills are incredible.

This hits you with a lot of vanilla bean upon first sip. As you get a little further in you get some cocoa and roasted malt mixed in. The smoky side is kind of woody tasting and a little hidden by the prominent vanilla. It’s bitter and sweet that is kind of balanced. Overall I was a little disappointed as I was expecting more of a smoked taste. It was still pretty decent. I just had a higher expectation going in as I was looking forward to this beer. Has, I think, a date on the bottom of the can. It is just very blurry.
