Lemon Shark - 27 Anniversary Double IPA
9.6% Imperial IPA / Double IPA
We found inspiration in the southern hemisphere for this year's anniversary beer.
This double IPA is brewed with Peacharine and Riwaka hops and a special ingredient called Phantasm – an extract from sauvignon blanc grape skins – all sourced from New Zealand. Combined with some good old-fashioned Mosaic hops from the US and an amped-up grain bill, we've got ourselves a unique sensory experience full of dankness and tropical, citrusy notes.
Coming in at a smooth 9.6% in honor of the year we started: 1996.

Trüb Orange mit einigen Schwebstoffen, grober Schaum.
In der Nase citral fruchtig
Citral auch im Antrunk, dazu kräftig harzig. Vollmundiger Körper, fein säuerlich prickelnd auf der Zungenspitze, für mich typisch Mosaic Hopfen. Pink Grapefruit, etwas Mandarine samt Citrusschale trocken herb am Gaumen, zum Abgang saftiger wobei hier noch deutlicher die Pink Grapefruit durchkommt, als würde man wirklich den Saft trinken. Zurück bleibt Stachelbeere, ich nehme an das kommt von dem Sauvignon Blanc Traubenschalen-Extrakt, sowie eine kräftige Bitternote.
Für die Stärke lässt sich das gefährlich gut wegschlürfen, nur die Stone typische Bittere verhindert das es allzu gefällig wird.
