Crema Catalana, Spain
4.2
Translucent, chestnut brown beer. Almost ruby. A modest fawn lacing pops up on the surface and waves hastily goodbye. A bit of syrup, caramel, cane sugar, cognac and vanilla find my nose easily. Basically pleasant albeit fairly restrained. I like the gustatory provision, it's neatly easy. The components include caramel, syrup, milk chocolate, vanilla, cane sugar, cognac, date and toffee. But not barrel aged. Sweet – loads of residual sugars here. No trace of alcohol. Nothing's wrong with the package – vice versa, it's really attractive. Basically. The weakest link is the body: light-medium to medium. Clearly substandard for 10.37 %. The finish is pretty close to the real gustatory experience. The mouthfeel is medium at best, smooth, relatively soft and definitely lip-glueing. Somewhat rich but surely not deep. Truly balanced, easy and even gulpable. Dangerous as this exceeds 10 %.
