This beer is totally opaque and pitch black. Truly timid carbonation with a tawny small-bubbled foam that surpasses half a finger. Soon the top is flat still. Bourbon is not very powerful in the air. Accompanied by creamy butterscotch, corn flakes, dark malt and caramelized lemon peel. But interestingly: I'm anticipating vanilla but I fail to spot it. The palate is totally different: copious Bourbon hits my tastebuds. Vanilla steps now out of the shadows. Dark malt features in the taste profile while the butterscotch keeps me happy. The remaining components include a suggestion of either clove or nutmeg, caramel, brown sugar, faint date, a crack of cookie and distinct oakwood. The body is full. Bourbon is intensive in the finish. And oak barrel notes. The pleasant trajectory takes me further ahead. The sensation is full, barrel aged, beautifully warming and mouthcoating. Medium-thick and lip-glueing. A pleasant acquaintance.
