Toinen maisto. Päiväys 4.4.2019, kuusi vuotta ikää. Oppii varmaan kohta lukemaan.
Rusinainen nautinto. Tynnyri on edelleen tunnistettava, mutta mitä pehmeimmällä tavalla. Todella hyvin maturoitunut 🙂. Huipputuote.

Aivan ohut vaahto, pientä sakkaa pohjalla.
Aivan ykkös kuntoinen yksilö.
Todella hyvä.

Tuoksussa konjakki tynnyriä ja kuivattuja tummia hedelmiä. Maussa konjakki on jopa yllättävän vahvasti esillä, tumma hedelmäisyyttä, kevyen paahteista mallasta ja tynnyrin kuivuutta. Samat jatkuu jälkimaussa. Suutuntuma on tanniinisen kuiva.

Happy Independence Day 🇫🇮
Suomi100 turns three years old today, so having this Estonian beer to celebrate it. Bottled 04/04/2017. In addition to being the beer that Sori made for their 2nd anniversary, it is also a beer to celebrate Suomi100.
Scent of caramel, raisins, oak barrel, dark fruitiness. Bit dark malty, apothecary licorice.
Taste has cognac, oak, caramelised brown sugar, dark fruits, malts, finishing with strong cognac and raisins.
Mouthfeel is fulfilling, smooth, finishes with warmth. Medium-full.
Lot of barrel flavour here, despite being 3,5+ years old. Not too sweet and bit of a slow sipper. Delicious and much better than 2020 blend.

Always a treat to have Barleywine so well-aged :)
No idea what was the original color of this beer but now this is a deep amber-colored beer with a small head that is soon gone. Small ring circles the glass for a long time: 3,75/5
The nose is mostly fruity with long time aging notes, that resembles red wine. Minor oak hues. No cognac. Some sweeter caramel (malt) aromas sugar-coated plums. Perhaps not the absolute best aged beer I've had but well balanced and with delicate aromas. And also, this keeps changing when it "breaths" : 4,25/5
Mouthfeel feels good: full-body, medium-low carbonation, Sherry like alcohol, and medium-high intensity bitterness. Very nice: 4,5/5
Taste is in many ways similar to the aroma but maltier and slightly more alcoholic. Residual sweetness is almost sugar-like and at the end, the sweetness turns fruity which has some interesting toasty undertones. Interesting flavor and like the scent, well balanced: 12,25/15
The barrel aging is seemingly lost Whatever it has brought to the beer. Same thing with the hops (bitterness is still here). Highly enjoyable Barleywine. The mouthfeel is lovely and that interesting residual sweetness turning into fruity and even slightly toasty thing is neat. Elegant beer: 17/20

Imelä, rusinainen, kuivahedelmäinen, pehmeän konjakkinen ja hiukan maltainenkin tuoksu. Maku jatkaa samoilla urilla.
Oikein hyvin kypsynyt barley wine.
