An Oktoberfest that I found from Kennesaw Georgia, Dry County Brewing. Great name. Nice fluffy orange head, didn't stay around too long. Color is a clear deep orange. Sweet malt aroma, has a breath of lemon. Texture is light, smooth and very drinkable. A modest amount of flavor gives a delicious sweet malt blended with biscuit, very lightly toasted. Only in the finish do I get a whiff of Marzen only to disappear and be replaced by a mild dry bitter ending encouraging another Stein. This is a pretty good beer, shy, gentle and easy to drink. Don't get any of the 6% alcohol so if you're planning on a big day enjoying plenty of Oktoberfest beers, this one could sneak up on you.

In Houston with family trying out a beer that I brought from Georgia. Appears orange coming out of the can. Once in the glass it was more of a red copper in color with some haze. Very short and quick lived head. Aroma was surprisingly sour and unpleasant. Flavor is much better. Sweet, soft, with strong notes of a lightly bitter salt water caramel toffee. Mild roasted malt adds to the finish along with a breath of bitter aftertaste. This is a delicious beer, but I am not getting any bourbon or vanilla that is supposed to be the main characteristics. Even the 7.5% alcohol is hidden. I love Amber's and will gladly drink several more of these but the rating is going to suffer from these missing components.

At my son's house having a burrito and an amber cervesa while we watch Thursday night football. Almost no head. Very deep bronze color. Mild malt, some amber notes, a whiff of lime. No effervescence. Totally flat. Yesterdays Modello with ample water added. Nuff said.
