Kennesaw Bourbon Ale is brewed in collaboration of Dry County being Georgia's first same site brewery-distillery. Starting life as a strong Amber Ale, KBA is then aged on American oak previously used in the production of our Dry County Spirits. This innovative crossover process lends delicious vanilla and oak character to the beer, while still maintaining a pleasantly smooth malt base.

In Houston with family trying out a beer that I brought from Georgia.
Appears orange coming out of the can. Once in the glass it was more of a red copper in color with some haze. Very short and quick lived head. Aroma was surprisingly sour and unpleasant. Flavor is much better. Sweet, soft, with strong notes of a lightly bitter salt water caramel toffee. Mild roasted malt adds to the finish along with a breath of bitter aftertaste.
This is a delicious beer, but I am not getting any bourbon or vanilla that is supposed to be the main characteristics. Even the 7.5% alcohol is hidden. I love Amber's and will gladly drink several more of these but the rating is going to suffer from these missing components.
