Sometimes when a beer is local and easily available you tend to forget that you never rated it. That goes for this Good People brewery. Just wanted a refreshing IPA and I checked to see what I thought about it only to discover I've never rated it.
Deep burnt orange color with a flash of red. Orange head that almost left the glass. Tropical citrus aroma leaning towards grapefruit. First sip gives your tongue a quick slap of hop bitterness. Quickly turns dry. Not what I was really hoping for. A lot of projects to get done on this Saturday and I just wanted something light and refreshing. Trying one would have been fun but now I have a six pack. Too bitter for me.

Good People is a Birmingham brewery that I've been to many times. Can't believe I've never rated this pale ale. Outstandingly high head, doesn't want to go away. Hazy but I don't see anything floating. Good aroma for a pale ale, has a bit of a lemon characteristic. Soft texture, smooth, not much effervescence left, and turns just a little dry toward the middle. Flavor is good. Sweeter than I would expect and I like that. Not over the top, just brings a....... honeysuckle? Perhaps some of that orange blossom honey I loved in South Florida. I'm getting just a little hop bitterness in the finish. It lingers for a little while but overall I'm really enjoying this.

This is a beer from Birmingham that I brought for Ryan and I to Duo. Good People Brewing is a very nice little brewery.
A modest head, really hazy orange color. A lot of sediment on the bottom, I think there may be two seeds down there. I'm not drinking those. Aroma of lemon and blood orange. Texture is soft and creamy and the body is heavy. Flavor is now straight up grapefruit with some honey sweetness, the other citrus flavors are gone. Almost no bitterness from the hops. This is very drinkable. The kind of beer to be enjoyed with pizza or a meal. The mellow flavor would make it very compatible with food. Not a memorable beer or one that would stand out in your memory, but just a nice solid drinkable IPA.

Fruity, flavorful with zero bitterness. IPA perfection

Been two and a half years since I've had one of these. Time to give it another try.
Medium white head, very light yellow color with the smallest amount of haze. Aroma has very little fragrance, some corn malt. Flavor is underwhelming. Seems totally watered down. A little bit of corn malt, just a speck of sweetness, finish turns dry. Leaves a touch of sour on the back of the tongue.
Good People is a good Birmingham brewery. My first rating was sitting beside a swimming pool and I may have had a few previously. But that 3.8 rating was ludicrous. I could finish this beer but I'm not enjoying it. Think I'll just move on. I'm going to give it a 1.7 and I'm solid with that.

Going through my inventory of chalice glasses today.
Had this a year ago, gave it a bad rating. Maybe I was a little harsh. I'll give it another chance while watching Texas A&M playing Miami. For my son-in-law only, Go Aggies!
Color is an orange yellow and very hazy, no particulates. Most Oktoberfest aren't hazy so this is unique for me. Very faint Amber aroma. Flavor intensity is mild. Roasted malt, hints of caramel that gives it a touch of sweetness. A mild bitter tartness gives it a somewhat citrus characteristic. Finish adds biscuit while elevating the citrus bitterness.
Still don't particularly like this beer. I miss my Marzen flavor. But it's probably better than the 2.1 I gave it before.

Short but frothy thick totally white head. Light orange color with some haze. Flavor is unusual in that it has no Marzen, most American Octoberfests do. Not necessary just different. Flavor is mild in strength. Taste is faintly citrus, faintly earthy, throw in a touch of roasted malt, end it all with some hop bitterness, faintly of course. Never had anything quite like this. Dislike saying this because it's a good local brewery but, I don't like it. Still prefer my Octoberfest the American way with Marzen flavor.

Having a Good People stout on a very good Christmas day.
Starts with a very short head. Disappears in less than a minute. Very strong peanut butter aroma. A whiff of alcohol. Opaque brown color. Light texture. Intense peanut butter flavor with some chocolate in the background. Finish concludes with a roasted coffee, both dry and bitter. A moderate alcohol burn becomes evident.
Not as creamy or as sweet as I would have expected for a milk stout. Good but my expectations were higher.
