Absolutely beautiful day here in the mountains. To have 76° on a clear August day is perfect. Lots of chores to do and time for a relaxing break on the downstairs deck. Needed something light and refreshing so I grabbed this Mexican lager from Cahaba Brewing in Birmingham. Pale yellow color with a little Haze. Expected corn aroma with a hint of citrus. Very light, soft and smooth texture. Modest corn malt with hint of crisp lime peel in the finish. Has just a small kick of bitter that makes you want another refreshing sip. I was pleasantly surprised in this. It's an excellent Mexican lager. Very drinkable, refreshing, clean mouthfeel. At 5.3% a little strong for an all day thirst quencher. But I'll take it.

Using my third chalice of the day. Now watching LSU take the lead over Mississippi State. Good game, anybody could pull this one out. A light orange yellow color, very little ahead on the pour. Citrus aroma. Moderate hop bitterness. Flavor is a combination of Florida citrus fruits. Grapefruit, navel orange, and notes of lemon. Some sugar may have been added since this seems sweeter than a normal citrus. Very smooth combination, somewhat soft. Finish adds some dryness in the end. Pretty good IPA for me since the bitterness level is very subdued and the citrus is very refreshing. I also enjoyed the soft smooth texture.

On Ben and Linda's deck, the quarantine deck, enjoying another nice blonde beer, this one from Birmingham. Very light yellow color, small amount of haze. Aroma has a light cereal quality. Texture is both light and crisp, very smooth. Modest amount of flavor. Qualities of light yellow corn with just a little hot dryness. Overall, very drinkable.

Very pale light yellow color. Very little head. Nice, continuing carbonation. Mild lager malt aroma. Very light and smooth. Lightly sweet, a bit of a corn cereal note. Leaves the mount noticeably dry to encourage you to take another sip. This is a really good, light lager. Tasty, very drinkable, light with a finish that leaves you wanting more.

On draft at Dreamland BBQ in Birmingham Alabama. On our way to the Alabama game. Came with very little head. Color is it deep oranges amber. Very light aroma. Very little carbonation but that might be due to the draft nature of this beer. Typical Oktoberfest flavor. Has a bit of bitter flavor in the finish.

Medium-high dark tan head. Doesn't last. Very dark brown color. No external flavors, no coffee no chocolate. Not a real strong flavor, has a roasted, smoky taste. Think this was the way the original stouts would have tasted. Good, basic dark beer. Love it!

Reminds me of a barrel aged barley wine we just had a few nights ago.

It has a nice smooth creamy feel for an amber ale. Good stuff.
