Atelier Vrai | Normvollendet | Double New England IPA Das Dosendesign…. ….ist, wie eigentlich immer bei Bieren des hessischen Atelier Vrai, outstanding. Hier macht man vieles einfach ein wenig anders, fast alles aber immer gut. Und so ist es auch bei diesem sehr trüben, 7,8%igen, goldgelben Double NEIPA mit seinem länger haltenden Schaum, daß nach Citrus, Pink Grapefruit und Mandarinen riecht. Im Antrunk sind die fruchtigen Aromen mit einer feinen Säure und die moderate harzige Note harmonisch abgestimmt. Der mittelstarke und durchaus süße Malzkörper trägt mit der geringen Karbonisierung zur großen Süffigkeit bei und die 7,8% Alkohol kommen erst im Nachhinein mit Wärme und Schwere zum tragen. Normvollendet hallt sehr lange fruchtig und harzig nach. Mir schmeckt es vorzüglich.

Very accurate beer name.

Obscure, deep mango pulp hued beer starts the weekend. The carbonation is relatively meek although it manages to produce a shiny, whipped-creamy head up to the level of two fingers. The withdrawing froth paints the glass with zigzagging lacings and leaves a billowy ring on the surface. The nose likes what it receives: mango, cantaloupe and orange, at least. The fruity elements are, however, not particularly bold. Restrained notes of cream and wood can also be depicted. The scent is alright, but the taste gives a more promising approach. I find many soft fruity flavors, such as orange, tangerine, mango, grapefruit pith, maybe a hint of peach, too. The creamy variable is smaller but not extinct. The woody whisper is there, joined by a suggestion of mint and moderate dry coconut flakes. Oat flakes can be found in the maltbill. The body clocks medium-full. Maybe even bigger? The finish tweaks more bitter, citrus pith and peel step determinedly forward at this stage. The minty and woody parameters intensify, as well. The mouthfeel is, first, soft, smooth, a tad creamy, juicy, tropical, relatively pulpy, ripe and balanced. Then it evolves to a more woody, tangy, dry and drying direction. All in all, a quaffable and multifaceted brew.  💛💛
