My last 🇺🇦 beer this time. Enjoyed straight from the can in the train. Having crossed the border and passport control, I'm already on the Polish/EU side. The scent offers pineapple, lemon zest, mandarin and apricot, accompanied by a slightly floral twist. The flavor profile is  somewhat less rewarding: I can observe lemon zest and pith, grapefruit pulp as well as bitter peel, and finally raw peach. The body is light. Feels also crisp, zesty, pithy, even tangy. Conclusion: NZ hops should give tropical vibes. This doesn't. Therefore, this beer is unfortunately a disappointment.

My last hours in Ukraine. I'll leave tonight for Warsaw and further up north back home. Hazy, deep gold beer with a creamy bubbly head that climbs one finger high. The bubbles burst at a regular pace and the foamy cap descends to a fluffy lace ring. The olfactory provision is not particularly big: weak hints of cantaloupe and something really distant, maybe orange peel? The gustatory universe is tropical fruity and juicy: cantaloupe, nectarine, mango, orange peel, a small amount of biscuit and remote grass. A milkshakey side can be spotted although this is more like a "traditional" NEIPA. A marginal tangy resinous touch lingers behind, especially in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium, juicy, tropical, slightly crisp and lip-glueing. A solid body for 6.9 %. Good stuff albeit not a masterpiece.

Now: tonight's crafts! Yeah! I hope the name is a sign that foresees the destiny of the bullsh*t aggressor. This beer looks relatively transparent, gold. The head is astonishingly moussy, not really dense, rather silky, and clean white. The foam reaches one finger, paints the glass with impenetrable lacing and adorns the top quite long. The scent is awesome! Generously grapey. White grape indeed. Sweet. But not white wine. At all. Maybe also kiwi and green gooseberry. Soft crushed biscuit in the maltbase. Lovely! White grape doesn't leave you cold! I have probably never experienced so copious grape juice in a beer. Either the amount of Nelson Sauvin is enormous in the beer or the brewer is a genius. Or both. Kiwi, as well, but no gooseberry. Additionally, I can pick clementine, mango, perhaps even a suggestion of peach. Unique! Biscuit, yes, in the baseline. The body is medium. That's welcome at 8 %. The end is semisweet fruity with marginally increased citrusy elements although the white grape is still prevalent. The mouthfeel is tropical, pulpy and juicy. Somewhat soft but definitely not milkshakey. Crushable! A well crafted piece where you can taste the Nelson Sauvin hop at its best!  💛💛 Off the record: great to see young people mingling and drinking craft beer even in a war situation.  👍🏻

Another small one. Again, semiclear yellow. The head is also here velvety and thick. One finger, long sustained. Grapefruit in the air. Nothing else. The reason is probably the same as before. The flavors include pineapple, tangerine, lemon, a tad resin, grass, oat cracker and biscuit. Nice. The body is light-medium. The finish is shorter than that of beer #1. Flavorwise, carries on the earlier cocktail. The sensation is light-medium, juicy, pulpy, refreshing and somewhat pithy. Reasonable. I want more of this ABV level.

A quick beer at Beer Place, Kyiv. Looks semiclear yellow. The emerging head is cloud-white and extraordinarily silky. One finger is the measure. Long retention. Lemon in the scent. And grapefruit. That's pretty much it. I would normally be worried but this foamy lid is so thick that it obviously caps all the aromas. I expected something tropical since this is an NZPA. New Zealand gives me such a promise. The components include sweet lemonade, a bit of grapefruit pulp, raw pineapple and carambola. A soft foundation. The body is light to light-medium. Ends with medium-sweet citrusy flavors, not much different from upfront. The mouthfeel is light-medium, zesty, faintly crisp and slightly drying. Quite alright.

This looks exceptionally beautiful: impenetrable, deep warm yellow. Like a balmy tropical sunset. A creamy head grows one finger tall and shrinks to a neat lace ring on the top. What a seductive milkshakey scent: nectarine, mango, peach and a dash of passionfruit. The milkshakey layer originates from lactose, cream and remote vanilla. A very soft, obviously oaty and biscuity foundation. Although the fragrance is not particularly sturdy, the promise is that this can't go wrong! 💛💛 Oh yesss!! The gustatory symphony proves my assumption right! This doesn't go wrong. I'm spotting loads of mango, nectarine and clementine, accompanied by considerably smaller proportions of green grape and pear. The creamy sensation declines slightly but it's still appealing and sweet-leaning. A hint of lactose could actually feature in the background. Oat flakes and wheat biscuit support the fruit triumph. 💛💛 The body clocks light-medium to medium. The finish gains more bitter flavors to complement the tropical fruits. The sensation that the beer leaves on the tongue is medium, creamy, tropical and nectar-like. It's soft and smooth. And crushable.

A quick one before a social situation... Hazy, mango orange beer with an off-white silky head. The height is quite moderate but the texture is dense. Long retention. A tropical scent, yet not too ample: mango, nectarine, peach and tangerine. Lovely! Soft malt in the basement. The tastebuds love the tropical cornucopia of mango, nectarine, tangerine and blood orange. A slightly different cocktail on the tongue than in the air. The same soft maltbase though: oat flakes, cracker and wheat. The body is light to light-medium. The tail waves neatly with fairly similar components, yet the citrusy sphere intensifies noticeably. Grapefruit steps in and makes friends with the earlier kids like tangerine and blood orange. Feels light-medium, juicy, tropical, clean and balanced. Gluggable. And almost crushable! A good piece that would easily invite me to take more but gotta go now.

Okay. A craft beer in 🇺🇦 Nevertheless, I didn't realize that I had had this beer before. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Well, "repetitio est mater studiorum" like the Romans used to say. Opaque, deep dark brown beer with a silky fawn head that surpasses one finger. The head shrinks gradually but wafts as a dense lacing on the top for long. An intensive coffeeish scent. Not sweet-leaning cappuccino though. I can still imagine a hint of lactose and oat biscuit in the background. The taste is rather dry coffeeish but a wink of lactose does actually pop up occasionally behind the scenes. Lactose, raw cacao powder, cinnamon and a little dash of ash do their tricks in the shadows. The body is light-medium to medium. Ends with raw smashed coffee beans but lactose leaves a faint sweet impression on the tastebuds. The mouthfeel is medium, very dry, drying but also lip-glueing. Super coffeeish but I can't associate it with cappuccino. Obviously more appealing than earlier.

Rankan sporttipäivän iltamyssynä pitkästä aikaa barley wineä, vieläpä tynnyröityä. Jonkun aikaa tekeytynyt kaapissa. Tuoksussa on lupaavaa whiskytynnyröintiä ,sekä tosi makeaa maltaisuutta, barley wineä uskoo nuuhkivansa 😄👍 Maku on alkuun maltaisen makea, melassinen ja kuivahedelmäinen. Erittäin pehmeän ja lipoisan oloinen suutuntumaltaan. Jälkimaussa kevyesti paahteisuutta, joka laskettaa mukavasti tynnyrisyyttä kohti. Viskitynnyri on todella pehmeä ja miellyttävä, varmasti aika tehnyt. Toisaalta tuoreempana ehkä napakamman makuinen. On kyllä herkullisen makuinen, yllättävän helppoa juotavaa, yleensäkin kyl aina barley winet on maistuneet ja tämä helpoimmasta päästä.👌
