Flight 2/3 targets West Coast. Clear amber is the appearance. A generous creamy head. A truly subdued olfactory presence: grapefruit peel and graham cracker, in very modest volumes. And later wet wool. Grapefruit also on the tongue. And malt, cracker, ample resin, hops and a remote alcoholic tang. The wet wool flavor refuses to disappear, unfortunately. Feels medium, crisp, pithy, peely, dry and drying. Not a winner.

A small taproom in Koukáki, Athens. Ten taps. Let me have a small flight of three. Flight 1/3 is the only one of these three heading for New England. Dressed in foggy, deep mango yellow. A restrained off-white head. The scent offers pineapple, lemon pulp, jasmine blossom, perhaps also a hint of orange zest. The taste is citrusy, with especially lemon zest, pith and grapefruit, as well as grass and dry hops. I don't spot anything floral now. Feels light, a bit crisp, zesty, marginally pithy and faintly drying.

Flight 4/4. Misty, balmy deep yellow beer. A moussy white head. A weak olfactory presence: mango only. The tastebuds like the mango, pink grapefruit, pineapple and orange pith. The mouthfeel is light-medium, zesty, pulpy, slightly crisp, moderately dry and drying.

👁 tiefschwarz; feinporiger, nussbrauner Schaum, sehr beständig 👃🏻 röstmalzig, dunkle Schokolade, Milchkaffee 👄 Zum Serienfinale ST gönne ich mir als Hommage an Will, den Weisen, heute noch ein Athener Mitbringsel. Weich und cremig im Antrunk entwickelt es zügig eine ordentliche aromatische Wucht: Von Milchkaffee ist da keine Spur mehr, dieser Espresso oder gar Ellenicos hat keinen Tropfen Milch gesehen. Dunkle Schokolade klingt sacht an und dann ist da vor allem ganz viel verbrannte Brotkruste. Das ist schon heftig und stellenweise etwas drüber, mehr stört mich aber, dass der Alkohol nicht sauber eingebunden wurde und stellenweise durchsticht. Das wirkt dann schon etwas unelegant, mag aber ganz im Sinne des Etikettenlogos sein: "Doom over the world"
