Dark roasted coffee smell. It’s very powerful and I’m sure if you blindly smell it you’d say it’s coffee! You can find hints of Bourbon there too. 1 Bourbon attack with roasted notes. .9 Then we have more Bourbon notes that develop. .9 The aftertaste has nice bourbon notes with coffee notes. Gentle bitterness too. .9 Overall a very nice beer, with Bourbon notes and coffee notes. It’s decently complex and balanced. We absolutely don’t taste the 12% which is a big green flag. .9

Strong rye bourbon smell. 1 Bourbon forward attack. .9 Then more bourbon notes appear with spicy notes . .8 The aftertaste really gives toffee and caramel notes. We also have hints of rye whisky. Very good! 1 Overall that’s exactly what I expect from a rye bourbon English ale. It has spicy rye notes, bourbon notes but also malty notes of toffee and caramel. The bourbon also does not overtake the rest which is difficult to achieve but beautifully realized here. It’s then a complex and well balanced beer! (And we don’t taste the alcohol too!). 1
