St Austell's most legendary ale, Hicks is full-bodied, strong and Cornish, brimming with a kaleidoscope of flavours. Brewed with plenty of malt and lashings of English Progress and Golding hops, Hicks is truly a classic ale of considerable depth and complexity.

Dried fruit and toffee notes, it's a good English bitter.

Bottle conditioned, full of flavour, very powerful for 5%. Well worth trying if you see one, only a mild bitter finish.

A decent malty aroma. A creamy mouthfeel with a nice malty taste. Subtle caramel-like sweetness and a slight fruity note lead to a nice bitter finish. An enjoyable drink. A smooth and easy-drinking session ale, even at the ABV.
