Where do we begin with this one? Generous helpings of roast and flaked barley make this a true Barley Wine in every sense of the word. A beautiful dark ruby-red in colour, sensible English hopping leaves a sweeter finish and divine mouthfeel.

A strange name for an ale given that bock’s are lagers. At 6% too, this is the lowest ABV I’ve seen for a barleywine which are usually upwards of 8%. I needn’t have worried though as flavour wise it was spot on. Aromas of fresh baked bread and intense biscuit give way to flavours of toffee, molasses and dried fruits.
Quite rich and fruity and the low ABV doesn’t detract from the nice beer that it is.

A most disgusting drink. I don’t like stout or porter and this is off the scale in this regard. Dreadful and almost undrinkable but lovers of such ales will like it.
