Wow, now this is special. This Brewing Gold Medal winner is brewed once a year at Xmas and left to mature in oak bourbon casks for 10 months. Every brew is unique, so my mouth says this. Rich molasses, lovely dark fruits, prunes and dates and all things Xmas pud. Lovely warmth going down the shoot. Black as pitch, light carbonation and a small stout yellow retaining head. Gorgeous. Got one for the cellar, will review it in a few years time.

Quite chocolatey smell and very heavy to drink. Nice for such a high %, but doesn’t taste as strong as you might think.

Ouch...very strong stout. Almost like liquorice. Not my thing at all.
