Finally having another Duo beer with Ryan. This is a Martin House two beers to a box fruit sour. Passion fruit aged 7 1/2 months in a whiskey barrel.
Frothy head has a little pink hue but disappears quickly. Lightly hazy with an old brass color. Aroma has a touch of a red wine characteristic. First sip reveals a strongly acidic citrus with notes of port wine, grapefruit and lemon. The barrel aged whiskey is also apparent. Did not really taste any passion fruit in this. My main problem is the flavors didn't blend together successfully. The barrel whiskey did not compliment the citrus flavors at all and felt like they fought each other throughout. Never tasted any of the 10.3% alcohol which is probably a good thing. Neither tart nor sour, just an abundance of citric acid.
