Advent Calendar #️⃣1️⃣6️⃣ today since I'm lagging behind the schedule. The beer wears a turbid, dark brown gown. A ruby reflection can also be observed in the beer. The carbonation is introverted but a small-bubbled taupe head still grows 1.5 fingers tall. The foamy cap retreats gradually to the sides. Now we have an interesting scent! Maple syrup, cognac, purple grape, plum and sweet malt. Makes me want to delve deeper into the qualifications of this beer! Maple syrup is obvious also on the tongue. Unlike my expectations of a thick syrupy flavor, it's relatively thin albeit deep. It's probably the maple syrup that gives an impression of Cognac here, as well. Bags of berries and fruits follow behind: blackberry, purple grape, raisin and plum. The body is light. Astonishingly light actually. The finish offers maple syrup, blackberry and biscuit as a weak medley. The mouthfeel is light, balanced, moderately lip-glueing, innovative but simultaneously also a tad characterless.

Een zoet en beetje fruitige Dubbel met hints van karamel en chocolade. Lekker...
