Can an Imperial Stout be 0.5 %? That's what this beer wants to assert. But why wouldn't it just be a Stout? [•••] My conclusion is that because this is a non-alcoholic version of an Imperial Stout, the label says "Imperial Stout". But as for the style, this is not Imperial.
Anyway. Highly interesting this is! Looks muddy, very deep dark brown. Or black. Almost. More or less. Quite normal carbonation. The tan head is spongy and impressive four fingers tall. Soon a sheer haze is left on the top.
The scent gives roasted malt, raw cacao powder and raw chocolate. Do I also spot distant vanilla? I think I do. Pretty nice anyway.
The tastebuds like... no, the tastebuds love the berry flavors, such as raspberry and blackberry. I can also pick remote coffee beans embedded in raw cacao, raw chocolate, malt, cookie and a dash of vanilla. This is actually super lovely!
The body is light. The finish maintains the berries and vanilla but the rest of the package is diluted more or less away.
The beer leaves a light, pastry-like, rich, interestingly summery and marginally roasty impression on the tongue. Lip-glueing.
