The last beer of my summer vacation. Six weeks went all too fast. Tomorrow back to work. 😔 The beer is dressed in murky black. Reasonably carbonated. The foamy crown is light tawny with tiny bubbles and a height up to one finger. The head melts quickly to a thin lace ring. The nose spots recognizable nuances that are not particularly intensive though: banana skin, cacao nibs and a pinch of graham cracker. The taste profile tweaks somewhat more bitter than what the fragrance suggests but, simultaneously, it grows in intensity: waxy banana skin, a hint of banana fruit itself, cacao nibs, dark chocolate, wheat malt and graham cracker. Far from a banana milkshake that you could anticipate – for some reason... The body is light-medium. Could be bigger at this strength. The finish serves chocolate and cacao rather than banana or any other fruit for that matter. Maybe also a suggestion of lactose there? Quite narrow anyway. The mouthfeel is light-medium, smooth, faintly tangy actually, as well as lip-glueing. Banana is a difficult ingredient in beer, I've tried it once and the experimentation wasn't too successful. Anyway, this is a decent drink.
