Saunan hämärässä ja rauhassa aukeaa hollantilainen tölkki suurella tarkkuudella ja käsien vakaudella. Ihan kuin tätä olisi treenattu joskus? Tuoksu joka tölkistä saunaan laskeutuu, ei ole mikään kauhean hyvä. Jotenkin hapan ja pisteliä. Ensimmäinen kulaus: no täähän on ihan oiva olunen, aika leipämäinen maku iskee ensin, tämän jälkeen mukaan tulee nurmikkoisuutta, maltaisuutta, melko painostava humalaisuus. Jälkimmäinen on jännä, se vähän ikään kuin lyö kasvoille. Jotenkin tää jää vähän kevyeksi, olkoonkin että paikoitellen tuntuu jopa ruokaisalta. Maut eivät vaan oikein jaksa kantaa. Saunassa, itsekseen meditoidessa ihan kelpo valinta.

The beer is clear, deep gold to pale amber. And decently carbonated. A fluffy off-white head reaches one finger and melts fast to the sides. A fragile haze wafts on the top, too. The scent is malty with grainy, a bit biscuity and faintly bready notes. Nice and clean. The hops are wellnigh absent. The taste pushes forward strongly grainy flavors. Malt-forward indeed. Biscuit, waffle, maybe slightly sweet-leaning bread, as well. The hoppy sector is recognizable although narrow. Dry grass therein. Maybe a small injection of citrus pith, to complete the list. The body is not thin but light to light-medium. Not bad at all. The tail leaves a faint trace of grassy hops but otherwise the package remains unchanged. Feels light-medium, clean, balanced and easily gulpable. Astonishingly pleasant. However, the ABV clocks 5.5 %. Quite light for a Maibock. Actually, the BJCP states that the ABV of a Helles Bock should be between 6.3–7.4 % (it doesn't list Maibock as a separate style or, generally speaking, at all). It makes rating difficult. As a Pale Lager, this could easily exceed 4 stars but I have to reduce it a bit for being a lower-ABV-than-criteria Maibock.
