This is a complex one that you have to appreciate the complexity. I could see some not liking it. It changes as it warms. Starts out with a dark roasted malt, dark fruit that leans towards fig & plum, dark chocolate with a bit of char adding to the taste. As it warms the bitterness seems to grow as it is quite hoppy. While this is going on the dark fruit seems to fade a little bit along with the roasted malt fading even more. Char gets just a little stronger and the hoppy bitterness keeps growing. Has a medium thickness.
I grabbed a 6 pack ($20 - not cheap) earlier this week. I have been sampling one here and there so I think this review is pretty accurate. It’s definitely one of the more hoppy/bitter stouts I’ve had, at least tasting wise.
The good thing is I have one more left. Not for long as I’m going to grab that now. I think I’ll end the night with my last one.

My son-in-law and I ran out of Duo beers but we both found this Boulevard Dark Truth to share. The description sounds fantastic.
Strong aroma of dark ripe figs, maple, dark malt and alcohol. Nice tiny bubbles head that reaches a quarter inch, sticks to the side of the glass. Texture is soft, velvety and still crisp. A complex flavor follows. While cold, ripe figs, dark malt and strong bitter hops. Finish ads an espresso chocolate with a deeply charred cocoa dryness. Then the beer does the unexpected, which I appreciate. As it warms it changes characteristics. The figs disappear, milk chocolate early giving way to a very dark malt. This dark malt reminds me a lot of a dark malt IPA, the powerful bitterness is very similar. Much softer, almost creamy. Never lost its effervescence, a gentle swirl brings a miniature head back to the top. Late finish becomes bittersweet.
I've always appreciated the art of how a beer can change characteristics from one point to another, usually with an improvement of flavor. This does that in an exceptional way.
