My late night dinner accompaniment shows a transparent, deep dark burned umber complexion with a distinct ruby tint. Timid carbonation with a hasty fizzy sound. A woolly beige head reaches maximum half a finger but remains as a neat lace ring on the top.
The scent is fairly impotent irrespective of the temperature but a neat set of elements can still be captured: date, raisin, brandy, cane sugar, a pinch of purple grape and faint licorice. Not bad although a tad closed.
The team of dried plum, date, brandy and cane sugar wins the race this time. A good slam of licorice kicks ass in the background. Somewhat raw and aggressive.
The body is light-medium to medium. The finish is equally bold as upfront with elevated amounts of brandy, licorice and cane sugar.
The beer leaves a raw, deep, intense, alcoholic and warming sensation on the tongue. Lip-glueing but surely not desserty. A slow sipper.
