A nightcap. Dark as night, that means opaque, pitch black. The beer, I mean. The carbonation gives a fizzy sound and dies fast. A seductive tan moussy head falls short of one finger and dissolves quickly to a generous lace ring. Otherwise the surface is hazeless.
Intensive scent: fruity whisky, dark plum skin, oak barrel notes, faint raw cacao powder and a whisper of vanilla. The whisky punch is so powerful and a tad sharp that a characterization of "balanced" is simply impossible here.
The Lowland whisky smashes my teeth off. Copious whisky indeed! And strong oak barrel flavors. The whisky overpowers whatever other minimal nuances there might be, such as dark plum skin, cola, cacao nibs, black malt and licorice.
The body clocks full, maybe not huge anyway. The finish doesn't change the earlier experience in any way, the same whisky avalanche covers my tastebuds as before.
The mouthfeel is full, intense, massively barrel aged, beautifully warming and a bit raw despite BA. Lip-glueing as well as relatively soft and smooth but definitely far from being "balanced". Anyway, an interesting curiosity, especially for those who love Scotch.
