Vahva, muttei alkoholin huuruinen.

Happy BARREL AGED BEER DAY 2024! It's celebrated on the first Friday of October every year. Therefore, an oak barreled beer. Looks opaque, matte black. The carbonation lives short and puts forward a cappuccino-colored fluffy head that swells one finger thick. The foamy belt shrinks soon to an impressive lace ring and leaves downpouring traces on the glass. Licorice, burned wood and roasted elements in the air. Quite close to what I anticipated. The taste profile is bigger and bolder than the fragrance: licorice is powerful and lies on the sweet side. Sugar sweetens the impression further. The roasted twist is detectable albeit relatively modest. Burned wood, oak barrel and bitter plum skin can be identified in tiny quantities. The body is full. The sweet licorice continues neatly on the tongue up to the end. Nothing, practically speaking, changes in the finish. Seven or eleven; snake eyes watching you; double up or quit; double stake the aftertaste; the ten of clubs, the ten of clubs. The mouthfeel is full, roasty, marginally burned, lip-glueing. It's also strong, slightly sharp and modestly barrel aged. A tasty sipper but not a masterpiece.

Donker, kruidige gebrande koffiesmaak, droge afdronk, goede body
