After having some hot wings for dinner I decided the next beer would be a dessert beer. Brewed 12/20/24. At first sip I was very surprised to get a nice medium level of a Smokey / roasted malt taste adding some bitterness. I thought I’d be smothered in sweetness. Then you pick up the chocolate, light strawberry and very light vanilla cream giving it a smooth lactose sweetness as expected. Its sweet overall but has some bitterness from the roasty side and maybe some hops buried in there. I wouldn’t call it balanced as sweetness is still king here. The Smokey aspect adds a little intrigue to it as you wouldn’t expect that in a dessert beer. I loved that tho.
