The beer pouring into the glass has such a beautiful color. Exactly what you'd expect from Monkish. This year, Monkish's reputation has taken a slight hit with a couple of weaker beers. However, most of their beers are still top-notch. But what about this one? The hop combo of Motueka + Citra promises a lot. Actually, an insane amount. That combo is one of my favorites. Monkish Brewing Co., located in Torrance, California, has been a standout in the craft beer scene since its inception in 2012. Known for their innovative approach and high-quality brews, Monkish has garnered a dedicated following. Despite a few hiccups this year, their ability to craft exceptional beers remains strong. The aroma offers sweet tropical notes, lime, mango, and pineapple. A hallmark of Monkish’s brews is their complex and inviting aroma. The tropical sweetness, intertwined with hints of lime, mango, and pineapple, draws you in, setting the stage for what’s to come. The mouthfeel is carbonated, dry, fresh, firm, balanced, soft, clean, juicy, and has excellent drinkability. The mouthfeel is insanely good. One sip reveals a masterclass in brewing technique. The beer’s mouthfeel is perfectly balanced, combining carbonation with a dry and refreshing quality. It’s firm yet soft, clean yet juicy, making it highly drinkable. The flavor includes citrus, tropical notes, mango, pineapple, lime, stone fruits, and white wine. Monkish’s skillful use of hops shines in the flavor profile. The combination of citrus, tropical notes, mango, pineapple, lime, stone fruits, and a subtle touch of white wine creates a rich and layered taste experience. The aftertaste is dry and fruity. The aftertaste includes lime, a hint of white wine, and leaves the mouth dry. The aftertaste retains the acidity of white wine. The finish is just as impressive, with a dry, fruity aftertaste. Lime and a hint of white wine linger, leaving a pleasant dryness and a hint of acidity, inviting you to take another sip. This is yet another excellent beer. Monkish really knows their beer craft. In conclusion, despite a couple of missteps this year, Monkish continues to impress with their dedication to quality and innovation. This particular brew, with its exceptional hop combination and masterful execution, is a testament to their expertise in the craft. ___________________________________ Lasiin kaatuu kyllä niin upean väristä olutta. Toki juuri sen näköistä mitä Monkishilta odottaakin. Tänä vuonna Monkish on saanut pienen särön kilpeensä, kun vastaan on tullut pari heikohkoa olutta. Onneksi kuitenkin edelleen suurin osa on ollut ihan timanttia. Vaan mites tämä? Ainakin humalakombo Motueka + Citra lupaa paljon. Itseasiassa ihan älyttömän paljon. Tuo kombo on yksi suosikeistani.
