A dark mahogany winter warmer. This Victorian-style Porter is medium bodied with a malty sweetness as well as caramel, chocolate, dried fruits and liquorice notes. A semi-dry finish with hints of lactose-like sourness keeps this beer from being over-the-top sweet and is, instead, quite drinkable.

Mini keg picked up at the brewery. Thin head and not too strong aroma, lightly carbonated from the keg. Smooth and fairly light body with coffee notes along with the malt, a little bitter and quite a nice aftertaste. A good drinkable Porter and not obvious that it’s 6% abv.

I'm not very keen on the really heavy porters and this turned out to be quite gravy-like and lifeless. Drinkable, but not really my type of thing.

Pours black with a cherry red bleeding, and forms an off-white thin head. The aroma has a clear coffee scent, as well as roasted malts and sweet prunes. The taste is quite sweet and has notes of coffee, big red ripe apples, plum and lemon zest. Some burnt aftertaste. The texture is smooth and quite oily, but still very thin. A lighter beer than expected. Not the best porter I've tasted.
