At my son's house for the beginning of a new era of Alabama 🐘football🏈. Who knows what the future holds.
Brought this growler back from Goat Island Brewing to enjoy at this game. I had it at the brewery aged in a Bourbon Barrel. It was pretty good and I want to see how good it is from the tap.
From the growler it had a frothy tan head, very thick and heavy. Texture is very soft and creamy for a porter. Flavor is excellent. Vanilla out front, dark chocolate and espresso follow. Not any change of flavor going into the finish, just more of the same.
My expectations were low, however, this is an excellent beer. 🍺 It compares to some of my very favorite creamy milk stouts. I could enjoy this forever. Not exceptional, but something I could enjoy over and over.
