Robust in character yet smooth in delivery, Cabin Fever is a roasty brown ale and a hearty, comforting companion for long, mind-bending winters. Its rye, roast and raisin notes play off a subtle caramel sweetness and culminate in a dry finish. Excellent with roasts, stews, caramelized onions and snowfall.

Duo time with Ryan and my daughter. I provided this to our collaboration of beer reviews.
Really high and frothy head, meringue on a pie kind of head. Hold it to the light and it's a ruby red color, totally clear. Sweet aroma of toffee, molasses and some roasted malt. Texture not as heavy as I was expecting, not thick, soft and very smooth. Flavor on this changed as it warmed. At first it was super sweet, obviously molasses, toffee, dark chocolate, mild roasted malt. Would have thought this was a gentle sweet stout. Finish became a little more roasted and ended a little dry and lightly tart. That was the first three sips. After that, the chocolate totally disappeared, the toffee gently subsided, the molasses came more to the surface, the malt became more roasted. The finish added a dark fruit quality. Black cherry in both flavor and aroma. Even the roasted malt took on a more earthy and woodsy quality.
Ryan and I believe the change was not just the beer warming but maybe some oxygenation going on. Whatever happened it was fun and the flavors both before and after were pleasing. I prefer the sweet start, but that's just me. Good beer, I'll recommend it.
