Looks like a contender here.
Very light pour, a little thin even. Shows a body that leans more toward amber than red, with light carbonation and one finger of foam that dissipated quickly.
Scent is caramel, biscuit, lots of dried fruit and some pine resin. Mouthfeel is moderately foamy though the beer itself doesn't look like it is.
Taste is upfront red currant, raisin, sultana, with some mandarin underneath. Biscuit malts seep before the caramel dominates and finishes.
Not quite a red ale, not quite a RIPA, but not a bad beer all the same.
