Bourboulenc Lambic - Dansaert, Belgium
3.7
Lambic flight 2/3. Brilliant straw. Looks like a Lager with the exception that the carbonation has already died when I get this far. Initially, the white froth climbed one finger high but now there's basically nothing left. Let me sniff the beer. I receive rotten apple, Belgian yeast but not wild, lemon and a touch of green grape. Resembles a Saison more than a Lambic. The gustatory profile is that of a Wild Ale, again. Lambic is a remote dream. Green gooseberry lingers beautifully on the tastebuds. Sour apple, lemon pulp, white wine, distinct oaky notes can be spotted. Wheat is evident. This flight is aiming higher — I hope. The body is light. Once again. Looks like there's nothing big here tonight. Anyways, the end is unchanged from upfront. Apple, raw green gooseberry and lemon still rest on the tongue. Gives an idea of a fruity white wine. That's great. The mouthfeel is light, juicy, a bit vinous, very dry and drying. Mouthcoating. Slightly Belgiany. Still not funky. What the heck?
