We’ve always been about producing the boldest and brightest possible IPAs we can here at Polly’s. A group session on what flavour profiles would work best off one another yielded a suggestion of a three way dance between Citra, Nelson Sauvin and Motueka, and lo – Dream Cycle was born. Heavily weighted toward the South Pacific hop varietals we love so much, this beer positively bursts with fresh gooseberry and white wine grapes from Nelson, backed up with fresh lemon and floral notes from Motueka, before rounding off with delicious citrus notes from Polly’s classic, Citra.

This looks sexy and contains beautiful south Pacific hops along with the craft classic Citra. 6.9% ABV so just shy of a DIPA.
It's completely opaque and looks like honey. It reeks of fresh Nelson Sauvin, that is to say gooseberry and white grape, but also citric sharpness and tropical fruit. Gorgeous really.
It's silky smooth in mouth, which typical of Polly's, it's how they do it, cream like. It has a big body and a long lingering finish. It's both green/floral and fruity, with explicit with hops too. The sheer hops are tangy and dank, tastes likes a metric shit ton of Nelson are in this and Motueka keeps it green and floral then Citra introduces a citrus stab of grapefruit and lemon from Citra and Motueka.
If anything it's a bit too much Nelson for me, it's very much a New Zealand brew this. As it warms and breathes the hops grow and the flavours round out nicely, becomes juicy and fruitier, the tang is still there but it's nicer as part of the overall flavour profile.
It gets nicer and richer over time but it's still heavy leaning towards Nelson Sauvin. Not as fruity as I'd like in terms of stone or tropical fruit, as this is almost entirety gooseberry and white grape, though grapefruit and lemon is there. It's ridiculously dank with hopiness and definitely beautiful though not as complex or varied as Chubbles by Cloudwater.
