God!

A stroopwafel (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈstroːpˌʋaːfəl] ; literally 'syrup waffle') is a thin, round waffle cookie made from two layers of sweet baked dough held together by caramel filling. (Source: Wikipedia) At first stroopwafel beer sounded mostly gimmicky, but then the added bourbon vanilla and cinnamon seemed at least interesting. After decorking the bottle an immediate hint of stroopwafel hits the nostrils. That instantly changes into an almost overwhelming vanilla scent reminiscent of vanillevla, a sort of Dutch custard. It pours a pretty golden, close to ruby colour with a slightly beige head. The vanilla aroma stays very abundant until the end. I have been known to complain about claimed tastes, aromas or ingredients not being clearly present, but this is too much. The taste is vanilla, too sweet, boozy and something undefinably unpleasant. It could be the bitterness not pairing with the vanilla and sweetness. One would almost think a bad beer is being covered up, but with De Molen that seems unlikely. All in all not very enjoyable. By the way: what happened to the cinnamon?
