Now a walk on the dark side albeit cautiously: the ABV isn't more than 4.2 %. The pour is, of course, impenetrable, very deep dark brown. Not black, at least in this light and with my eyes... Looks like black coffee though. Carbonation is reserved but creates a restrained fawn head that falls short of one finger and retreats fast to the sides. Espresso is a tad sweet-leaning as if the beer portrayed lactose. Having checked the details, I confess I'm wrong: there's no lactose in the beer. Anyway, it smells as if there was. Other components include marginal dark chocolate and raw cacao powder. The malty sphere can be described as roasted and even a tad burned. The low ABV hits, unfortunately, straight on my face. Or I mean it doesn't. It's tame. Espresso is evident but it's watery. I can still observe something sweetish like lactose but I've now learned that it's a hallucination. Well whatever. Raw cacao powder features in the shadows. Burned malt lies on the scorched soil. The body is clearly thin, it's the weakest link in this beer. The end gears bitter, the coffee is strong and old, left on the table for a day. Burned masterplans in the malt package. E-s-p-r-e-s-s-o, that's what the aftertaste is; perfect caffeine, take it away, lovin' it; one shot, twenty-four seven, black. The mouthfeel is thin, still a tad intense, slightly tangy, very dry and drying. It's mouthcoating, as well. Satisfying flavors for the ABV anyway.
