Yard Sale
6.8% New England IPA / Hazy IPA
Brewed using the lightest larger malt we can get our hands on and the best New England yeast, this is a strong oaty, wheaty, hazy beer. Using Amarillo, Cascade, Citra and Mosaic hops, you can expect notes of tropical fruits, citrus and grapefruit! This juicy NEIPA holds true to its style coming in at a modest 6.8%! Oh, and as it brewed by yours truly, expect it to be hazy! Drink and enjoy responsibily! Just don't end up a mess!

The second and last of my testers from Boscombe. This one is 100% hazy with an orange juice complexion and a bit of head retention after a medium hard pour. Soft tropical aromas emit from the glass, give it a swirl and these intensify. Mosaic doing it's duty by providing pineapple and bubblegum most notably and then you notice Citra's influence too with its unmistakable orange piff/satsuma vibe and lemon zest. The OJ style is enhanced further by Amarillo and Cascade but they also impart notes of melon, elderflower, pink grapefruit, lychee and pine. Nice and soft in the mouth with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. It goes down oh so smooth. It's hoppy and juicy in almost equal measure with a decently strong piney finish, which is long and pronounced. The flavour is big, big enough to cover the 6.8% ABV virtually completely, though you still sense heat as it's not far from DIPA territory. You don't get Cascade often anymore as its popularity has been overtaken by Citra, this brew proves you shouldn't forget it, it still has dry hop impact. Similarly Amarillo isnt widely used in brews of recent years and it gives this beer a coriander, almost peppery type spice edge. Juicy OJ leads the charge though, that's for sure. And juicy it is! It's got a really great balance between tasting of green hop and juice. Some beers are hop fests and others complete juice bombs, whilst I prefer the latter what's more ideal is a battle between the two like Yard Sale has. Speaking of balance, this brew tows the line between being easy drinking and a big boy IPA, as it's both! A proper 6.8% big IPA that's smooth and flavourful enough to come across as easily drinkable and therefore very enjoyable. Big on flavour, big on quality.
