I’m on a quest to find beautiful, unique, flavoursome beers. This is a great fit for that. Honestly, it’s the same vibe as smoked cheese, something I can have as a one off and love but not all the time. Such a unique flavour, one that I’ve never tasted before and I rate that. I think drinkability would fade quite quickly and it’s a little bit quirky, which is the only reason this doesn’t get the full marks.

A Tempest Brewing Company beer. Really drinkable red ale with smoked barley giving a distinctive but not at all overwhelming peaty/smoky taste. If you like Laphroig malt then this is the beer equivalent. Lovely stuff.
