El Dorado Pale Ale (Hop Studio)
5.6% Pale Ale - English
Through every iteration of our growth over the last demi-decade, one thing that has persisted throughout is this brewery’s love of hops, and how we’ve born an entire business that now looks after the livelihoods of fourteen team members from this love. The Hop Studio felt like a natural extension of this love – showcasing the single most complex, wonderfully diverse ingredient we use in our process bar none. El Dorado was a hop with which we really knew we were onto something when we first used it on the cult classic El Dorado Mosaic IPA back in 2018 in those halcyon Loka Polly days. We’ve developed our processes and techniques tenfold since that first brew to where we feel comfortable with all the quirks and idiosyncrasies of this incredible stateside varietal, as mysterious as the mythical city it shares its name with. Check off a whole host of bold pineapple, mango and pear notes, backed up with a resinous bitterness in this all out maxed up pale.

Second time around for me. Still a beautiful beer that shows what they can do with a single Hop.

The bigger brother of this beer 'Deluxe' or whatever it's called is amazing so I was drawn to picking this beer. El Dorado hop is luscious and fruity, single hop brews can be disappointing and not as good as a blend, but they also can be a showcase of greatness. This beer is opaque with deep fruit juice appearance. On the nose is apricot, satsuma, grapefruit, peach, lemon zest and a touch of forest pine. In the mouth it's silky smooth in texture and flavour presentation. It is typical of Polly's and typical of El Dorado. Definitely luscious, it feels decadent like a DIPA or TIPA but confined to 5.4% ABV pale ale classification. It's the thickest and most luscious pale ale I've ever had. I think of it as an IPA really. It's not the most saturated taste ever but it'sega for a pale and good for an IPA. Don't think it's DDH but it is definitely showcasing El Dorado nicely. It's beautiful. This flavours are less expressive as in the nose, softer and more contained but it's getting richer as it goes on. Sweet and mellow, yet rich with taste. Juicy as fook with apricot and peach, backed by zestness and a hint of hoppy dankness in the finish. Not really piney more of a pine/dank cross, which is great for me. This brew comes highly recommended by me, it's is one of the best at this ABV and one of the best single hop brews I've had.

So I bought this because it is version 2 technically with a slightly lower abv. Really enjoyed the dry tangerine flavour coming through. Lovely haziness and juicy body. Would recommend.

This was a majestic beer that shows how’s much can be done with a single hop. Again London Ale 3 yeast is prominent on the back end and leaves the lasting effects of fruitiness.

Great beer. Juicy tangerine and all sorts of fruity flavours, wave after wave here. Pineapple, cherry, grapefruit, it was truly fantastic. Must try. Great beer and such complexity for a single hop.
