Insanely peated and smokey characteristics, slight metallic aftertaste, smooth and silky. Easy drinking with a warming boozy finish.
Another banger from Tempest!

Definitely the ace in the Tempest Brewser box this month. This is a special beer, you can taste all of the Islay characteristics but also that smooth roasted coffee stout flavour. It has a nice slightly smoked taste to it that must be from the peated malts, often over-done but it's very balanced here. Impressive.
Whaddya drink of that!?

Pours jet black, with almost no head... But then I have only poured 1/3..
Immediately got the peaty aroma upon opening the can
... This has now settled to a more chocolatey sweet aroma.
I have had alot of Barrel aged stouts. Especially the last few months where I have been on a bit of a stout craze
This however is ONE of the best ones I have had.... Which is a bold statement.... I love my whisky and this brings the peaty smokey flavours you would expect but in such a way that it isn't overwhelming the other flavours it's so perfectly balanced with a sweet chocolate base its incredibly drinkable
My only complaint is the thickness, just feel that at 11.4 it should be a tad thicker perhaps the addition of lactose?
EDIT - I saved half to allow it to warm up so I could compare at different temperatures.
It's at better slightly warmer I reckon about 10-12 degrees. There is much more depth to it. Has a bit more earthy flavours to it now, reminds me of pojhala
TLDR...Peaty whiskey infused chocolatey coffee stout... Sweetness and bitterness perfectly combined. Very drinkable but could do with a thicker mouthfeel

Tuoksussa vahvasti savuinen viski. Makumaailma ei pääse samoihin sfääreihin.
