Bottled on: ? One of the most oily-looking beers I've ever poured! Almost like chocolate suryp. Small and quick foam: 3,75/5 The beer smells like coffee liquor with nice vanilla softness and barrel making things more smooth. Probably aged in Bourbon barrels? The scent is really good but doesn't have that Woah-effect: 4,25/5 The mouthfeel is indeed very full and surypy with a gentle yet very noticeable alcohol warmth. Barrel ageing gives that woody feel, which fits well in a beer this big: 4,25/5 The taste is very sweet, and to be honest, a bit too cloying for my taste. Also plenty of roasted coffee, chocolate, wood, subtle vanilla and alcohol. Fairly good and well-working family of different flavours, but yeah, just a tad too sweet: 11,75/15 Solid, complex Pastry once again by Omnipollo. However, as this warms up, the sweetness becomes just too dominant and the beer starts to lose its balance. There were some big Pastrys at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen this year (most notably by Mikkerphone Brewin) which showed that even big, bold Pastry beers like this can be balanced and most importantly remain that way until the end. This just isn't on that level: 16/20 =40/50
