Nice big head. Medium low carbonatation. Beautiful deep dark color.
The smell has roasted coffee and chocolate notes. We also have milky hints and of course a Bourbon perspective. .9
The attack is liquorous with beautiful hints of Bourbon. .9
Then all the power of the Bourbon is calmed down by the milk notes. We keep some coffee roasted notes. .9
Finally the aftertaste rejoins a Bourbon perspective with a sweet caramel dimension. We also still have hints of roast and milk. .9
Overall that beer keeps its promises, with balanced aromas of oaky Bourbon and normal stout notes. It also has a nice power offered by the high alcohol percentage. This beer is robust and full bodied but we don't taste the alcohol, token of quality. .9

Having a double up night cap.
This of course has a bourbon taste along with milk chocolate, lactose, molasses and a touch of caramel and oak. On the second time around the oak became a bit more prominent. It’s fairly thin and on the sweet side. The alcohol makes its presence known but it’s not overwhelming. I really enjoyed as I’m finishing up the second one.

Second Duo beer with Ryan tonight, this is a Kentucky barrel aged Milk Imperial Stout that I provided. At 12% it should be unique.
Almost no head coming out of the bottle. Strong sweet aroma of dark malt, bourbon alcohol, and dark fruit. Texture is much thinner than almost any Imperial Stout with this much alcohol. Flavor has dark malt, alcohol that is distinctive as a bourbon with a barrel flavor, and the sweet lactose giving to it by the milk. Very smooth, very well balanced, and the alcohol is strong but not overpowering. It gracefully transients to the finish with no threshold. The flavor is the same throughout.
This is the opposite of the previous beer. That one changes from first to last completely. This one stays the same. It's very simple. That's not a bad thing. It is totally what they say it is. A Bourbon barrel Imperial milk stout. Simple. Straight forward. No frills, no additives, no dessert flavors. How difficult it must be to brew an imperial stout that doesn't have an abundance of flavors to mask it's basic identity. Sometimes, Simple, is the hardest thing to do. Well done.
