Nice lazy Saturday afternoon watching the 2023 NFL draft while having a beer that I have been nervous about. A cherry blackberry sour from a good Alabama Brewery.
Starts with a good head but it quickly disappears totally. Hazy reddish orange deep color. Aroma is definitely sour with hints of fruit, mostly cheery. Modestly thin texture, definitely crisp. Doesn't come across as the type of sour as I have experienced before. Much more tart than sour as both cherry and blackberry are present. The Cherry seemed much more of a candy cherry than the black cherry that I prefer. No flavor change as it passes through the finish.
Sours are not my favorite and this one definitely put me off on the first sip. But the pallet quickly acclimates and the flavors and textures become more agreeable. There's no bitterness at all. It's gets a small demerit for the amount of effervescence that continued to fizzle the entire time. I can drink more of these.
