Duo beer with Ryan, a Huntsville Alabama beer I took to him from Yellowhammer Brewing. Poured from the can like a cola, color and transparency about the same. Light malt in the aroma with small traces of banana clove. Flavor brings out a very roasted malt with pleasantly subdued Belgian banana clove notes. The finish reveals bitterness and a sweetness that had characteristics of licorice. I think they did a very good job brewing this Belgian style dark ale. If you love Belgian beers, then you will love this. Probably deserves a 4.4 but my palate doesn't run in that direction. To stay true to what I enjoy personally then I must give this a 3.9. It deserves better.
